Connected Insights Presents to the Health and Human Services and Aging Committee of the Cuyahoga County Council.
On Wednesday October 16th, Connected Insights presented an overview of our recent report “Connecting Cuyahoga: Investments in Digital Inclusion Bring Big Returns for Residents and Administration.”. Joining us in the presentation were:
Wanda Davis, ASC3
Bill Callahan, The National Digital Inclusion Alliance
Amy Sheon, Case Western Reserve
Christopher Whitmore, Scranton Road Ministries
Bryan Mauk, PC’s for People
Ben Hughes, Fatima Family Center
The presentation was made in support of the budget proposed from the Cuyahoga County Office of Innovation and Performance which included funding for digital inclusion staff and programming based on recommendations in our report. While these funding requests were not included into the executive budget set to go before the council of the whole on Monday, October 21st 2019, our presentation set out an investment logic for the county and ended with a request to consider an allocation.
Also in support of county investment, was a collection of 18 community organizations who signed on to a joint statement calling for county support and leadership and recommending the adoption of the recommendations from the Connected Insights’ “Connecting Cuyahoga” report.
On Monday October 21st at 1pm, Cuyahoga County’s Council of the Whole will review the departmental budgets of the office of innovations along with others.
